Anyone want to learn how to properly taste scotch? Or just need a fun excuse to pour a dram? Then you’ve come to the right place. I recently took part in a fabulous whisky tasting session of @bruichladdich The Classic Laddie held by Jeff from @whiskeyfellow and it was quite the delicious affair. Best part, you can view the whole tasting and follow along with me and @cocktailsbyhawk by going to my IGTV. But in the meantime, here are my own (super) annotated tasting notes of the heavenly libation…

Bruichladdich’s The Classic Laddie

• Color: Honey wheat

• Nose: Brown sugar

• Taste: Sweet floral and honey

• Finish: Cocoa and caramel

• Pairing Suggestion: Stone fruit tart or pie (perfect for Thanksgiving dessert!)

This holiday season I am making the swap! Switching out my usual treats for more conscientious choices. (#ad) The first delicious swap I am making is with N!ck’s Swedish-style Vegan Ice Cream. Not only is @nicksicecreams rich and creamy, they are also a low calorie, better-for-you alternative.

I’ll be honest, being a bit of an ice cream connoisseur, I was a bit skeptical. But all my doubt was blown to smithereens with the first bites of @nicksicecreams new Mint Chip and Caramel Swirl. Cranberry Spice Baked Brie + Free Thanksgiving Din

Cranberry Spice Baked Brie + Free Thanksgiving Dinner?! Thanksgiving is going to look a lot different this year. I will be having a small celebration with my daughter and husband, while maintaining social distancing virtual parties with my extended family. So far we are healthy and safe, so I feel incredibly lucky. But this year, I am particularly grateful to be teaming up with @ibottaapp on this Cranberry Spice Baked Brie recipe, since there is a greater purpose behind it.

Cranberry Spice Baked Brie
Time: 35 min.; Serves: 4-6

INGREDIENTS:
· ¼ cup of Great Value Cranberry Sauce
· 1 lb. wheel of brie cheese
· ¼ cup of raw pumpkin seeds
· 1 tsp. of allspice
· 1 egg yolk
· 2 pre-made puff pastry sheets

DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Roll out one of the puff pastry sheets and place the whole wheel of brie in the center.
3. Spread the cranberry sauce, sprinkle the allspice, and place the pumpkin seeds all on top of the cheese.
4. Fold the corners of the puff pastry tightly over, around, and under the cheese until completely enveloped. Place on the baking sheet.
5. Roll out the second puff pastry sheet and use cookie and/or fondant cutters to create festive designs. Lightly wet the back of each cutout and place on top of the wrapped cheese for decoration.
6. Brush the pastry with egg yolk and place in the oven. Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes. Remove and serve hot!
